Privacy Policy
Snake: Cats Lost in Space ("the game") is made by Bark and Olive ("we"). This policy explains what data the game handles and the choices you have. The short version: the game has no accounts, never asks for your name or email, and collects only anonymous gameplay analytics plus the data needed to show one optional rewarded ad.
What we collect
Gameplay analytics. The game records gameplay events such as levels started and completed, cats rescued, scores, play time, difficulty choices, and store interactions. These events are keyed to a random identifier created when you install the game (your "Player ID", shown in support emails). This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and it resets if you delete and reinstall the game. We use two processors for this data: Google Analytics for Firebase and PostHog. We configure PostHog to discard IP addresses at ingestion, so no precise location is derived; Firebase is configured without advertising-identifier support.
Advertising. The game shows one optional rewarded ad (the revive offer), served by Google AdMob. With your permission, the ad may be personalized: on iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks whether ads may use your device's advertising identifier, and in consent-required regions (such as the EEA and UK) Google's consent form asks first. If you decline, the revive offer stays available with non-personalized ads. To serve ads, prevent fraud, and cap frequency, AdMob processes device information, which can include your device's advertising identifier where you have allowed it. See Google's privacy policy and ad policies for details.
Purchases. In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your payment details. Purchase entitlements are stored on your device and in your platform account for restore.
Game services. If you are signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), leaderboard scores are submitted under your platform identity, governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies. Cloud saves are stored in your own iCloud (iOS) or Google Play (Android) account; we operate no servers and cannot read them.
What we never collect: your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, camera, or any account credentials. The game has no accounts.
Consent (EEA, UK, and other consent-required regions)
On first launch in regions where consent is required, the game shows Google's consent form. If you decline, gameplay analytics are disabled; the optional revive ad remains available in limited, non-personalized form as permitted by Google's limited ads policy. On iOS everywhere, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt separately asks whether ads may be personalized; declining keeps ads non-personalized. The game itself is fully playable whatever you choose. You can change your choices at any time via Settings > Privacy options in the game, and on iOS also under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can opt out of the "sharing" of device identifiers for personalized advertising. On first launch in covered states the game shows Google's opt-out message, and you can change your choice at any time via Settings > Privacy options. Opting out keeps ads non-personalized; the game is fully playable either way. Deletion requests work the same as below.
Data deletion
Email support@barkandolive.com with your Player ID (it is pre-filled when you use Settings > Help & feedback) and we will delete the analytics data associated with that identifier from our processors. Deleting and reinstalling the game also severs the link, since a new identifier is generated.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the effective date above.
